Family pics 2008

Okay so I was looking at our original family picture outfits (black and gray) and I hated them. First of all, Clayton's shirt was a brown-gray and didn't really fit in with the theme at all and I just didn't like the way all the shirts looked together! I like them individually, but all together the effect was not great. So here is what I'm thinking now...
White.
I have Justin's shirt and I LOVE it! The boys both had these shirts already and I like them, but they are a little off-white and I'm not sure it looks good. What do you think about the color of the boys shirts when put up against the white?

The first shirt of mine is a little turtleneck. I really like it and it fits really well. Again, let me know what you think of this look (is it cohesive)?
My second shirt choice is the short sleeved cardigan with a black shirt underneath. The stripes in the boys' shirts are navy blue, but they're thin enough that I don't think you can really tell that we don't match. So think about this look and let me know.
The third choice for me is the long sleeved cardigan with the black shirt. This cardigan is more off-white so it matches the boys a little better but I don't know what I think about that either. I do like that it has the long sleeves and that flows better with what my guys are wearing but you tell me.
So, not only do you need to decide what looks best as part of the group, you need to decide what looks best on me. This is choice #1 - the turtleneck. (Yes, I look pretty ragged in all these pics - I'm okay with that.)
This is choice #2 - short sleeved white cardigan with a black shirt.
Choice #3 - long sleeved off-white cardigan with black shirt.
After I had tried on all these options, I thought about maybe putting a lighter colored shirt on under the cardigans because maybe that would make me fit in better with the guys (because they are wearing all white and I have black on, but maybe the lighter color would be better). So Choice #4 - short sleeved white cardigan with blue shirt.
Choice #5 - long sleeved off white cardigan with blue shirt. I didn't get pictures of these last two looks with the guys' shirts so use your imagination. Also, I recently got my hair done and it's darker - what do you think?
Or I could forget it all and go like this...
So here's what I need to know...
1. Do the boys off white shirts look weird against the white?
2. Which shirt of mine goes the best with the group?
3. Which shirt looks best on me (because, let's face it, even if it doesn't go best with the group - that'll be the one I wear)?
4. What do you think of the darker hair?

Heh, I like this blog. it's so fun. Can I bet a guest contributor/opinion-seeker? ;)

1. I like the off white with the white. It makes it less stark. Especially with their cute stripes.
2. & 3. I LOVE that cardigan with the black undershirt. It brings together the boys' colors (navy = black in pictures, it's true) and is really flattering on you. And it matches the others' long sleeves.
4. The darker hair is so fun! Especially as the seasons change (which I know lots of people are into, so I threw that in). I like the honey-blonde a lot. It compliments your face. I'd love to see a picture of the hair down.

Your family is going to be so cute and matchy. How lucky are they to have such a cute woman in charge? Very.

I can't wait to get the picture so I can tape it on the fridge.

I really like these outfits. So cute! I don't think the off white will look weird with the white at all. AS for what I think you should wear. I really like the turtle neck and the short sleved cardigan with the black undershirt, I think I like them both equal (sorry not much help). The hair also looks great! When are you getting family pictures done?

Good ideas:
Wearing outfits in the same color family (light blue and dark blue, etc.)
Dark, muted colors that you can find easily in nature (i.e.: greens, blues, browns)
Solids or simple patterns
That hot little black dress!
Fitted clothing - big, baggy shirts can make you look a lot larger than you are
Comfortable clothes you can sit, stand, run, and jump around in
Nice jeans, paired with a dressy top
Accessories like funky necklaces, jackets, hats, scarves, sunglasses, etc.
Bringing one very dressy outfit and one very casual outfit

Bad ideas:
Bright white shirts
Wild patterns or horizontal stripes
Shirts with writing on them
Sleeveless shirts
Polo shirts on girls - for some reason, very few girls can pull this off well. If you really want to wear a polo, make sure it is fitted for a woman’s body, and not cut straight on the sides.
Shirts with short hemlines - the bottom edge of the shirt should hit at your hips or lower
Crazy colors (orange, lime green, fuschia, etc)
Watches or rings, unless they have a lot of sentimental value to you.. We want to emphasize the engagement ring, and lots of other jewelry will take away from that.
Short skirts, low necklines, anything even remotely risque
Exact matching outfits - it might seem cute now to wear the exact same outfit, but in a few years, you will hit yourself for being so cheesy ;)

I'm just saying!

Ok so I like the turtle neck shirt the best...it also looked really good on you. I also like the short sleeve cardigan with the darker undershirt.
Now if you do decide to go for a cardigan I would wear the short sleeve one, not the long sleeve one because it was more of an off white.
And I don't think the boys shirts look bad.
And last i say you pose like you are doing in that last picture!
Aslo do we all have access to the blogspot you never know when i'm going to get a HOT date and need you ladies opinion on my outfits!!
XOXO

What a cool blog idea! My vote is also for the turtleneck. It looks fabulous. My second choice is the short sleeved cardigan with the light blue undershirt.

And I have to say thanks to "Zinke" for the tips. Heaven knows I've been guilty of a few of these faux pas, and it's nice to have it brought to my attention :)

Once again, love the blog and hope you don't mind that I snuck up on it!
